Plex server not working and very unstable crashing

Updated plex now my server is unstable and shows my server as being nearby can’t add media or even play anything off media server I uninstalled the media server and reinstalled it and still nothing but trouble I was having issues with the updated app for months so I would just skip the update but even that stopped working for me any ideas on how to resolve these issues would be appreciated I really am thinking about looking into a different media server if this continues too bad I am a life time subscriber of plex pass. Note I can’t see what version I am running cause it won’t let me see that part of my settings

Is it not on your local network that you are on? that is all “nearby” means. as opposed to a remote server

how are you adding? what happens when you do?

I’m a mac user but i believe you can right click on Plex icon in bottom right task tray in Windows and select About Plex to see version number.

If I am working on my computer that has the server on it and it is pluged into my network how is it I am not conected to my network so that my server is nearby.
When I add my media I add it to my folders and log into plex and scan library as I have done successfully for the last 2 years
And last night I completely removed plex from my computer deleted all trace of it reinstalled as a new install and still have nothing but troubles won’t add media server can’t be found off and on. I am running a gigabyte brix running an i5 and 16 GB of ram running windows 10 with no issues when plex was running good it was fantastic but now it’s frustrating to figure out what is going on

I just updated a day ago, and I’m having the same problems. it’s frustrating. if I add media it will add it, but it will never populate any of the info or posters, background ect of the new media. There are always updates, but they never seem to fix things. just break things. Many of the problems I’ve had with plex for years never get fixed, but new problems often show up. There’s many people that post these problems and ask for help but plex must only have one employee as no one ever responds. They need a community relations group unless they don’t care about their product or customers. Sadly I rarely read a solution to problems, just a years worth off people asking if it’s solved yet, and no response from the company. Kinda makes you feel like you’ve bought a ticket on a ship that is on fire and sinking.
