Just purchased a 4TB WD My Cloud NAS, mistakenly thought I could run the Plex server software on any of the MY Cloud NAS devices (due to incomplete YouTube videos). Lesson learned! Now I’m investigating using the 2017 Nvidia shield TV for my Plex server. This will be used primarily for OTA TV viewing, TV recording and playback (time shifting, etc). Recording TV programs and movies and using Firesticks Plex clients for most playback. Will the 2017 Nvidia shield be a sufficient Plex server for this limited case? Since I already bought the 4TB My Cloud NAS, I’ll of course plug it into the network too.
Thanks
Ken
I run my PMS on Nvidia shield and have no problems, I have the 16gig model, and I have had no issues I use for all the above you mentioned. I’m sure most people on the forum would recommend the pro 500 gig model, which I guess I would buy if I was buying one now.
