Plex Server randomly closing

Hey,
After years of using, during the last few months, Plex Server has been misbehaving.

The problem is that after some idling, whenever I return to my PC, the server isn’t working. No idea why. The tray icon is gone, media is inaccessible, and I have to manually restart it every time.

What causes it to close? I’m running W10 64-bit, all the topics I’ve found about this are 3-years-old now, and I’m increasingly tired from discovering that Plex isn’t running from my frustrated kid, who can’t play her own cartoons and wakes me up about it every time…

What would you suggest to troubleshoot this?

By the way, I have reinstalled Plex, didn’t help.

I would check the logs. I was having the same problem and it seemed to be during the Guide Update for the DVR. I updated the tuner firmware, re ran a channel scan, and closed all Plex processes running in the background. So far it’s been staying up for the past 24hrs when before it was staying up for for maybe an hour or 2.

Actually, I went over the logs and was unable to find anything that would suggest why it closes.

looks like i spoke too soon. the server is crashing all time again. the error i get is
2018 18:41:19.946 [7160] ERROR - SQLITE3:0x1e14510, 2067, abort at 26 in [insert into media_provider_resources (parent_id,type,status,state,identifier,protocol,uri,uuid,extra_data,last_seen_at,created_at,updated_at) values (:media_provider_resources_parent_id,:media_
then the crash uploader kicks off ang closses plex

Need to see the full log. A fix was recently released for a crash that sounds similar to this

I just upgraded to that version and it seems to have fixed the issue. Just been waiting longer to post about it due to last time it crashed after 24 hrs up.

I ended up completely deleting Plex (including rogue files and registry entries) and reinstalling the entire thing.
This hasn’t solved the issue completely, but yeah, it’s better now.

Mine is still doing this. Has been for the past month. Plex is the only thing this computer is used for so there are no other installed programs that should be shutting it down.
Even went through all my .dll files to try and find an issue. Nothing. Also no error logs in Plex.
Seems to be if it is used (via iPad) for a while and then closed, when we return to it, it has closed at the server. The only thing that gets it back up is to restart server. This is the reoccurring scenario.

If you are getting crashes, please ensure debug logging is not disabled and also that crash reporting is enabled and on next crash, restart and download the logs and attach in a post here

On the same setting page advanced settings gives you option to enable crash reporting
