Plex server refuses to transcode audio

Hi running ubuntu server, with the newest plex media server installed with apt.

The server is refusing to transcode stuff with eac sound, getting the following error:

[Transcoder] [eac3_eae @ 0x34e3180] EAE timeout! EAE not running, or wrong folder? Could not read ‘/tmp/pms-b6341757-54c9-4271-95ed-99e19c035edc/EasyAudioEncoder/Convert to WAV (to 8ch or less)/ssxut5dh7tke5tatk3ucut3b_6608-0-7.wav’

Anyone got any suggestion on how to fix this? the server is not running as docker or in a vm, but physical ubuntu server … 18.04

Where is the transcoder temp directory? On a remote share?

No, its on local /tmp, No remote shares on the server

May I ask you to:

  1. Verify DEBUG logging only is enabled
  2. Start Playback again
  3. Play just long enough to capture the problem (30 seconds?)
  4. Stop playback
  5. Wait 30 seconds for the log files to flush to disk
  6. Collect the Logs (Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs)
  7. Attach that ZIP file here

Managed to fix the problem after it seemed, deleting the codec’s, and restarting plex seemes to do the trick :slight_smile:
