I recently had an issue on my shield. The plex server had stopped but when i tried to start it in the plex settings menu it failed to start. I tried a number of things but ultimately went for a full reset.
Ive started from scratch downloading the media server and plex app but when i get to the initial setup i get a “setup failed” error that says “something went wrong, there was an issue configuring your server”.
Ive checked that app permissions are set to “allow”, cleared data and caches and even tried rolling back to an older version of the server but nothing seems to work. This server was working fine last week and now i can’t even set up a new server after a factory reset. Am i missing something?
UPDATE: I got it to work with a second factory reset after i discovered an external hdd was corrupt somehow. Not sure how that prevented a new server set up but nonetheless it works now.
