Server Version#: 4.97.3
Player Version#:

User decides not to finish playback at this time. When user stops playback, and closes Plex app the media server dashboard shows item is paused. Console log shows item is paused and keeps polling for user.

Console message: [Req#f2f225] Play progress on 500733 ‘’ - got played 532000 ms by account !

This continue to repeat.

How can you stop Server from polling or stop user playback?

You can force terminate the playback from the dashboard.

I do not see the Forced Stop available on my dashboard. Is Plex Pass required to enable this?

  1. expand the view (the square box in the right corner)
  2. Use the mouse to hover over the username
  3. Now it will offer to stop the playback

Yes, unfortunately this option requires a Plex Pass

Thanks ChuckPa and JaysPlex7 for the answers and confirming Plex pass is required.
