Hello,

Starting a couple of days ago suddenly any client player (Mobile Android or FireTV) that is not local on the server machine crashes the server.

I have uninstalled and cleaned the machine as much as I could and reinstalled again.

I have also only added two simple folders to minimize the chance of any weird video files.

Note 1: The client on the same machine as the Plex server does not crash.
Note 2: The client on the same network as the Plex server but on a different machine crashes.
Note 3: I have tried closing Anti Virus etc.
Note 4: I do not have any of the dlls in the DLL List on my machine.

Note 5: I have upgraded my computer a couple of days ago while keeping the same disk and content for the OS.
Previous System: Intel CPU (All relevant drivers were uninstalled)
New System: AMD CPU (All relevant drivers with latest stable were installed)

Newly installed software:
NZXT Cam to control the CPU cooler.
MSI Dragon Center: To control system fans.

Workaround:
1- Run client first, keep client open.
2- Wait for server to crash.
3- Run server again.
4- The client will continue working as normal.

I have scoured the Internet for this and there were talks about Intel encoding which i don’t have and no intel services or driver exists on my system (I went through every single hidden driver and through all services directly in Registry Editor to be sure).

Current System Specs:

  • AMD 5950x
  • MSI B550 Unify
  • Windows 10 Pro 19042.804 (20H2)
  • RTX 2080 Ti
  • Ram: 32 GB

Latest Drivers for all components were installed.

Same here; crashes as soon as Android app attempts to connect.
I am running plex server v1.21.4.4079 on Ubuntu 18.04.5, and in syslog I see:

Exact same thing when using the Shield with PMS running on Windows 10.

Hit play. PMS crashes. Restart PMS.

Apple TV 4K. No issues at all.

Your specific issue (thank you for the clear issue report and logs) should be fixed in 1.22.0 which is currently in beta, it should be released out to public this coming week.
