Sorry for the brevity but the tab just spins and logs are full of error messages. Does work on a clean reboot but stop after a day or so of working. Just trying to access web end from server or from iPhone app to browse.

but please do not disable debug logging !

Please re-enable debug logging and restart the server and then capture the logs when the problem arises

Please provide zip of all the log files and not just one file

OK sorry will do

Plex Media Scanner Analysis.zip (1.3 MB)

Logs attached. Site is spinning currently.

Restarted Plex Media Scanner Deep Analysis.1.zip (778.5 KB)

Same issue. New logs attached.

I’m on 1.24.1 and I seem to be having a similar problem. I’m using the PMS service and the service is running, but every time I start the server, it runs for a short time then stops again. This just started happening today out of nowhere so I don’t understand what’s going on.

@sa2000 Would you mind looking at my logs? A crash dump from Plex was generated, but I don’t know where they went. Are they automatically sent to Plex?

@sa2000 I’m seeing these errors in my log. What does this mean and how do I fix it? Thanks.

It is a corrupt database and in this case it is probably the EPG database and not the main Plex Media Server database. This database gets recreated on an EPG refresh - if the file does not exist.

The db files will be here
C:\MediaCenter\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases
Filenames starting with tv.plex.providers.epg.

So shut down Plex Media Server

Erase files with names starting with tv.plex.providers.epg. and then relaunch Plex Media Server and do a Guide refresh

If you still see corruptions mentioned in the logs, please make sure you run with debug logging and provide full logs - if debug logging was off, please restart the server after enabling it

where ? please give me a link - the last set of logs I have from you are from May 2021

Thanks for the logs

First quesiton - is this windows 7 or windows server 2008 or windows server 2008 R2 and any service packs?

The logs show some system clock issue - some requests are not showing as completing or timing out

Is there any proxy softwaare running ?

Is there a problem with the system clock ? When we make a request out - we set a timer for timeout and this has not triggered and the last log lines show the time jumping - clock issue ?

Ah, got it, thanks! The next time Plex doesn’t start I’ll give this method a shot. I’ve already restored from a backup 3 times and I’d prefer not to do it again. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

A corrupt EPG db should not stop Plex Media Server loading - so may be it is the main database

Full logs with debug loading enabled before the last server restart would put the corrupt db error log entries in context and help establish which db that is corrupt

For the main db - see Repair a Corrupted Database | Plex Support

Ok, thanks. The logs are gone now since I restored a backup. The fact that I had to restore 3 times is really unusual though. If it fails to load again I’ll send you a PM with logs.

Thank you for your help.

This is a Server 2012 Essentials (r1) box. All windows updates have been run. No proxy running.

System clock, no seems to be running fine. It’s on 24x7 so I have not seen any time jumping. I can keep my eye on it. But would this explain the fact that Plex stops responding to requests?

Everything else on the server works fine.

This was a post from me a couple of years back, could this somehow be the same problem ? This has been working fine for 2+ years since then … Plex having issuses connecting to Server

very likely this is the windows tcp bug in the R1 releases of windows server 2008 and windows server 2012 and mentioned by me here Plex having issuses connecting to Server - #8 by sa2000 (as well as other posts)

I would not advise running Plex Media Server on releases before the R2 release of windows server 2012

ok thanks

@sa2000 It stopped again yesterday and I sent my logs in a PM. Let me know if anything jumps out as the root cause.

There was a crash at Aug 31, 2021 21:01:16
I need the crash dmp file for that crash
I cannot find it on the crash reporting backend system
Please look for the file within the %TEMP% directory as that is where we move dump files to after a crash and attempt to upload

The filename should start with 92468c45-45f4-4d28-a86b-fa163b33c561
