Plex Server suddenly unable to Direct Play?

I’m at my wit’s end. At some point yesterday, after powering down the NAS & Router to change their plug-ins, I rebooted everything, and Plex refuses to do Direct Play now.

  • Both Web Browser and non local Roku playback force conversions now. Have tried Roku settings to force direct play, only gives “This Server is not powerful enough to convert video.” message. I don’t understand this, as everything worked fine a few days ago before the latest update! Even currently, my un-updated Desktop browser can direct-play fine, but the web browser and remote roku TVs give me the error!

  • If I Disable video Stream Transcoding server-side, it gives the same “server not powerful enough” message.

  • If I leave it enabled, every remote video forces transcoding now, which makes them unplayable for my family! please help I’ve been at it since last night…

  • I have remote access enabled, the green check mark is there.

  • To be clear. I can play this video file fine on a LAN-Roku, and from the Desktop app.

  • When I access to Web App, or use a remote Roku off my home network, I get this insufferable new issue
    None of this was happening until the latest update, with the "automatically adjust quality (Beta) option. I do not have it checked,
