PLex server unavailable after claiming it

Server Version#:1.13.8.5395-10d48da0d
Ubuntu 10.10 x64

I have just finished installing Plex onto a VPS and after I go to plex.com/claim and claim the server into my plex account it shows as unavailable within my account.

I have tried reinstalled plex and still no success.
I have confirmed with the provider that the ports are not blocked and I can reach the plex account by going to :32400/web but it will revert to one of my other nas boxes I have on my local network rather than the VPS server.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your best option is to SSH-tunnel to it.

On this page, Scroll down to On a Different Network

https://support.plex.tv/articles/200288586-installation/

I have tried this and I just get a browser error telling me the page cannot be displayed

I am also getting an error message when doing the ssh tunnel stating

“bind: Address already in use”

Please copy/paste or screenshot what you are seeing?
“Address already in use” is unfortunately too ambiguous it needs clarifying context.

After attempting to connect to localhost:8888/web with my browser I see this in the terminal window

Thank you.

  1. I had instructed "ssh -L 8888:127.0.0.1:32400 ip.addr.of.vps`
  2. you used a different address reference and port. I specified them that way to guarantee IPv4

Kindly follow my instructions?
