Plex Server update Version 1.25.9.5721 broke something that wont allow the detection of any new media added on my Late 2012 Mac Mini with Intel Quad Core i7-3615QM @ 2.30GHz running latest macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 as of April 3, 2022 being the last time it worked properly when new media was added.
All existing folders and files are visible and functioning as intended. New folders are also visible but no new files are visible within plex.
Plex Server is installed on my desktop and all media files and folders are stored on a Synology DS1511+ with DSM Version: DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 5.
Attempted creating a new library with files and folders located on the desktop but end result was the same; folders visible but files not.
Running new version as well, v1.25.9.5721 on a Synology NAS DS916+, Windows 10 Home 64bit, v10.0.19044. Since updating an enabling the beta discovery settings, the library fails to launch promptly when starting the Plex desktop app (Plex for Windows Version 1.43.3.2951-1d73e3f3). Library spins for 30-60+ seconds before loading properly but performance appears degraded following latest update.
Same issue here, however it seems that since plex implemented the .plexmatch for series feature ( release notes ) plex parser does not recognise anything except what is documented in https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/ ALL of my files have the following formats: Series Name [1x01] - Ep name or Series Name - 2050-02-02 - Ep Name depending on need.
After the update only the second example I gave was getting parsed and added (as they are coincidentally the same as documented in the section Date-Based Television Shows ).
When I changed some of the newer additions to my file server to the format specified in the second link provided, i.e. Series Name s01e01 - Ep name they all got parsed.
I checked logs and no errors exist, in fact when it gets to a folder with new additions it will say in the logs that it found X amount of new files not in the database and starts parsing them. Only the ones with the changed naming structure get added.
@ChuckPa I have ran the database optimization and checked logs (before after and during) for any errors or warnings (and I get warnings about slow queries, but I’m 99% sure that has something to do with my bad vhdd configuration that i have been too lazy to fix), and I have no errors.
(I only @ at you since you are tagged as team member btw)
neither am I
100gb of plex db export, new vm (properly configured this time) for plex OR finally migrate it to docker… sounds like more work than I have time for… not high on my list of priorities
