I’m having some problems with using my Plex server with split tunnelling and haven’t seen anything similar to the specific issue. This is my first post and so if I miss anything, bear with me.
I subscribed to Surfshark VPN and planned to use the whitelister in order to allow Plex to run as normal but qbittorrent and the browser can work via the VPN. I configured this first of all to allow plex media server.exe and plex.exe to bypass the VPN. This worked fine and I was able to watch the server as normal. However when I tried to access the server settings, it said they were unavailable.
The only way to access the server settings is to do a fresh reboot (without Surfshark running) and then it all works as normal. I chose the default Ethernet as the preferred network interface in settings and then tried configuring the VPN to only route Chrome, Firefox and qbittorrent. Again the server works fine and I can access it as usual, but when I go to load the server settings, it times out again.
Has anyone had this issue of purely just the server settings not being available but being able to stream the content as normal? Any ideas would be appreciated as I’m not really sure what else to try.
