Plex showing Trash Icon on artists and albums, but all media is present and it plays fine

When I woke up this morning I found trash can icons over a good portion of my music library artists and albums. However, all the files are still there and play with no issue when I attempt to play them. These missing/unavailable media isn’t reflected on Plexamp, over there it’s totally fine.

  1. verify the health of your database file
  2. start a regular library scan
  3. prevent the issue from happening again by disallowing your media hard drives to spin down their platters.
