This is the most annoying bug that I’ve had since I started using plex
I press the rewind 10 seconds button, the video will instead jump ahead a few minutes or get hang on a buffering state. And it won’t recover until you stop and restart the video.
it happen 9 out of 10 times and its really frustrating
to the point i regret buying Plex Pass for, the app is so broken at this state
i will point i’m using the the app on a Chromecast with Google TV device and running the latest update (9.0.6.31998 currently)
i tested it a shortly on my PC where the media server is and it’s working fine there
PLEASE is there a known fix? if so please explain with details
i have the same issue on my Fire TV Stick 4k for quite a while now.
Neither using the slider nor the forward/backwards buttons consistently do what i want.
I don’t know if this is related to buffering but if i skip just once, wait a few seconds and skip again, there’s no issue. I’m not going to bother with the back button for now as it only infuriates me.
In addition to that i’ve been dealing with the player refusing to go backwards when having reached pretty much the end of the file for even longer than that. Like, sometimes i want to rewatch the very last scene of something before the outtro/credits start rolling and hit backward.
I see a loading animation, it goes away and the playback stays stopped. The progress bar however indicates it’d still play.
Of course everything’s always fine and dandy when using the web player on my computer.
Gonna leave a link to a reddit post about the same issue just to show we are not the only ones experiencing this issue and in case someone else stumbles upon this thread.
I don’t see your streaming services as value added. I was trying to watch a movie called Snowpiercer on your streaming service, and the number of commercials made it unwatchable. I found another streaming service (TubiTV) that was free so that I was able to watch that movie with far less commercials. Unless that can be improved, I suggest you use your resources elsewhere.
When advancing or rewinding a DVR recorded show, the elapsed time indicator at the bottom appears wildly in-accurate. It would be much better if you could duplicate the method used on Philo, where the frames of the program are in miniature on the timeline, but you can see the frames advance or rewind so that you can pick the exact point to resume the DVR playback.
We have a WD My Cloud EX4100 NAS. That’s where the DVR is based and we have a SiliconDust tuner for OTA signals. DVR playback on a TV can cause the Plex DVR to lose track and skip to the end of the recorded show. Very annoying. We have noticed that this does not happen as much when we utilize the Plex App on a XBOX. This appears to happen more when there was a marginal OTA signal condition when the show was recording. Is there a way to make your apps more resilient to signal drop-outs?
Appreciate if someone could get back to me on these items. Thanks. - Jim
