Plex skips and stutters on AppleTV

This is a repost of another post that had the same problem.

I have an AppleTV HD A1625. Playback of many video files are stuttering and skipping.

I have tried the following with no success:

  • Updating and rebooting
  • Wifi and ethernet
  • Direct Play

Playback on Roku and AppleTV 4k are fine

Unfortunately this is a know issue and has been for a long time. Currently there is a experimental Player in Development.

You could ask to join the beta group, mention your using a HD ATV it maybe of interest to Plex.
