I do prefer to have each disc have it’s own entry. I don’t mind if it merges them into one. However, its really inconsistent and driving me nuts. I tag all my files the same and it merges some… splits the others… Ideas?
The Eminem album shows up as (Disc 1) with both discs in the tracks listing 
Step One:
Disc 1
Disc 2
etc
Step Two:
Discnumber: 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 - etc
Result:
Plex once displayed them better, but they broke that and apparently have no desire to fix it… so this is what we got.
Not going to use that folder structure. It’s ugly and shouldn’t matter.

It’s obviously possible to have each disc as a separate album since it does with half of mine.
Tried it in Emby and they every one of my multi discs show up perfectly… :neutral:
Ok. You do it how you want, but if you want multiple discs to show up you better learn how to set Discnumber correctly.
If at any point you grow weary of Your Way not working you may want to try the Plex Way.

ROFL at “set Discnumber correctly” The only difference between what you showed and my example of Eminem is mine showing the entire album (both discs) as (Disc 1). And that is coming from the ALBUM tag not the disc number tag. Obviously PLEX can see both your disc 2/2 example and the way i have done it.

Music on PLEX is an afterthought to me so I’d very much like to know before i even consider re-tagging a couple thousand FLAC rips to the way one person recommends.
EDIT: The easiest way to get what i want is to just remove all disc number tags entirely. Leaving the (Disc X) in the album tag. Not sure this is something i want to do just yet.

I do say so. I made a folder called non-compliance for life - 666 - W00t. then tossed in some bare tracks (a few albums worth). Worked.
Yea, none of my music works now… Sucks. Every track i click in PLEX just makes farts sounds :’(
