Plex Status Control Center

... are my refreshes or scans, meta downloads ready or not ?
Don't know if it is just me ... but the last week has been a strain on my patience. Installing PMS, testing, optimizing, activating new meta agents... updating, refreshing, new testing, etc. You've all been there. PMS is not very informative on what the status is on the running "provisioning". When doing a library scan or forced meta download you get a brief message saying that a job has started, eventually finished, but that possible internet download can run in the background.

Great, so keep refreshing that page, have a cup of coffee, do a new reload on that page, still nothing,... did I miss something, is this working,.. frustration. Retry, new refresh, yet another cup of coffee ...

Then I started following the disk activity on my Win7 machine and found that one and a half after I started a forced meta download, logs still being updated, data still was being downloaded. Almost 2 hours later the new meta data and subtitles became visible in PMS...

This made me wondering. I am running a series of "web hosting" servers, and the heart of the system that runs all provisioning of the services to be installed on the servers (like www, mail, scripts, etc) is visible on a control page. All services that need to run are listed, and are marked with "OK", "Failed" or "Installing now".

This feature would make the PMS more "controllable", and give us better understanding why an update or new meta still is not visible, what is running right now in the background that we are waiting for.

Maybe the control center could also tell us what media is streamed, to who, what bit rate, bandwidth, etc
