Plex still not working

Hi,

Sorry, but I’m very much a noob to NAS devices. Plex is working fine from my laptop, But I can’t get it working on the NAS.

I’ve read the “Synology FAQs…Read This First” and ensured that the media folder has read/write permissions as the first step (Question 19) and then tried following the steps to open Ports for the Firewall (Question 4) and I have a question arising from that: When setting up the firewall rules in Synology (firewall profile/default/create), it asks whether it is source or destination port. Tried both - doesn’t work still.

Question 4 also contains a link for the ports for the firewall ports but does not refer to the ports in the router. Which Ports in the router need to be forwarded? Just 32400 to the NAS?

This is stage 1 for me, ie ensuring that Plex is fully functional within the LAN environment prior to trying to access is away from home.

The posters/metadata doesnt show up. Its quite frustrating as you can imagine.

Ive updated plex with the latest patch. Im using the same file structure which my computer uses, the file names havent changed when the files were copied to the Syn 918+.
