Plex used to be the one platform that stood apart from the rest — simple, intuitive, and reliable. Every other app I tried was clunky, confusing, and hard to navigate, which is exactly why I chose Plex in the first place. It was the gold standard for ease of use.
Now, that clarity has been replaced with clutter. Instead of focusing on personal libraries, Plex has buried essential features like shuffle play and intuitive menus under layers of “On Demand,” “Discover,” and other distractions I never asked for. What was once streamlined has become fragmented. What was once user-first has become ad-driven.
This disparity is glaring:
-
Old Plex: clean menus, fast navigation, shuffle play at your fingertips, library-focused.
-
New Plex: bloated interface, hidden or missing features, slower navigation, menus cluttered with unwanted services.
If Plex wants to innovate, fine — but don’t destroy the foundation that made it great. At the very least, give us a rollback option or a toggle to restore the classic UI. Let users decide whether they want the new “streaming-first” experience or the old library-first design that made Plex indispensable.
Please, Plex: don’t alienate the very users who built your reputation. Bring back the old functions, or give us the choice to roll back.
