I bought an aTV last week and configured it to use PMS with my iMac successfully. Everything worked fine until 3 days ago when I noticed there were more apps installed. A quick google search said there had been an update to the channels.
Since then the trailers app just says unable to connect after a long spinning wheel.
I've updated PMS to the latest version (this did need updating) and have tried restarting, reseting and removing the trailers profile with no joy. To make matters worse now I have removed the profile it now wont let me re-add it with an error code of -1004.
I think the problem may lie in the DNS though. When I forget my network and re-add it, the atv connects to the net, when I change the DNS to that of my iMac's IP (which is reserved by the router still) it won't connect to the internet, every app just shows the spinning wheel.
I'd be most grateful for any advice as I've only been using Plex and atv for a week or so.
This sounds like a PlexConnect issue to be fair, as that fiddles with the DNS queries.
Might be worth 'reseting to factory' and trying again from the beginning. It should all work fine, it sounds like your PlexConnect is not working the way it should be, have you tried downloading the latest GitHub version, and putting the certificates in the folder and firing it back up. Also make sure you have the ATV configured correctly so it's DNS is setup properly.
As suggested by Charlas, you should look for a similar issue or copy/paste your post in the PlexConnect section. Sure Baa or f00b4r will be able to assist you.
Try rebooting everything (ATV and computer) and making sure you have matching certs for PlexConnect and on your ATV. The update should not have broken anything, if you still have the issue then read the sticky and provide the information requested and we will get you back up and running.
I reset the atv, cleared the reserved IP's in the router's config table, deleted the Plex folder in my Apps and started completely from scratch and it worked...
