Plex stops immediately after starting (fresh install)

I’m trying to install Plex on my fresh DS1821+ (DSM7, 32gb RAM) to see if I can migrate from my previous setup running Plex on an old MacMini with my DS1815+ (now dead). My main goal here is just to get Plex running.

I downloaded the PMS package for ‘Synology (DSM 7)’ ‘Intel 64-bit’. I installed via Manual Install on the Synology.

I’ve been following this guide. I did grant Custom permissions to the PlexMediaServer system user.

However, when I click ‘Run’ on the Plex package, it’ll run for a few seconds then stops.

I ventured into /var/packages/PlexMediaServer to get the logs, which I’ve attached.

Any suggestions?

Wow. That is not making any sense.

Would you please do the following?

  1. Uninstall + ERASE this bad installation (unless you are preserving data).
  2. Download from here. (it’s the newer packaging and has a proven track record)
  1. Since there was a preexisting server identified for the Syno, you may wish to use the Plex Claim Token installation method to have it claim the server during installation.
