It could be the font chosen by the text renderer doesn’t have those specific letters/type-faces. This isn’t a problem on your end but would maybe be a problem on Plex’s end. The file is using Windows ANSI text encoding. Convert that to UTF-8 to be compatible to all kinds of Plex clients. Not only those running Windows. Try this version. I simply opened it in Subtitle Edit and changed the encoding. Countdown (2019).cze.srt.zip (25.9 KB)

Which Plex client are we talking about? Maybe follow @JasonNalley 's suggestion as well.

If the video file has a subtitle track embedded in the file, I think Plex will automatically select that version. Hi, I’ve just installed Plex ( Debian 4.19.67, Plex 1.18.5.2309) having exactly the same issue. UTF8 subtitles or those downloaded from opensubtitles.org in Czech language. Letters with diacritics are not shown : Word “rybník” is displayed as “rybnk” etc. Playing in web client.
