Plex, T-Mobile Home Internet, LocalXpose

Server Version#: 1.40.1.8120
Player Version#: ios 8.31

Secure connections are going to be the death of me.

I’m running a plex server with a docker compose image. I have T-Mobile Home Internet and I’ve signed up for LocalXpose to help with T-Mobile Home Internet’s CGNAT problems.

I created a TCP tunnel on LocalXpose: us.loclx.io:XXXXX.
I turned off remote access on my plex server.
I turned off Enable Relay on my plex server.
I put http://us.loclx.io:xxxxx in custom server access urls on my plex server.

On an external network, I can access my plex servier via http://us.loclx.io:xxxxx. I can also access it via https://plex.tv/web.

On that same external network (my cell phone with wifi turned of) I cannot access my server through the IOS app.

I find all of the stuff around https and a support article from plex about how they provice/prefer secure connections very confusing, but I imagine that the problem lies with the app not liking the insecure connection. Is that what’s going on?

I’m just trying to allow my one and only user who is not in my home to not have to go through the relay server so they can have higher quality video on their smart tv.

Can anyone help?
