Plex tagging 3D, no indicators?

I have a group of 3D movies, all labeled as “movie (2015)H-SBS.mp4”
They are seen by plex, but show up the same as 2D versions. There are no tags that tell anything about the movie being 3D. How can this be fixed?

My understanding is that it’s up to the client to support 3d content and it does so based on the name (which it looks like you have correct).

I know the Samsung TV client supports it (but I don’t know if you see anything in the UI to hint that it’s a 3d film, but the tv will switch to 3d if it’s named correctly).

Every other other client will just treat 3d media like 3d media.

Yeah, I was looking for something that will say 3D from Plex web. Not that it will play or switch anything; but have a marker to indicate 3D, such as it does with audio, or resolution.

I have a separate library that I keep 3d films in. Not sure if that will help you, but it works for me.

Because I have less than 100 3D movies… I just do this.

I do the same. I have <1 3D movie so it took me no time at all. :))

It would be nice to have a 3D logo indicated in the web player / pmp though. Similar to the DTS-HD MA / TrueHD ones.

Except files don’t have an identifier for 3D except in the name, and the scanners don’t currently pull attributes from the name.
