So when using Plex on my Shield TV “stick” (2019) I noticed that when you hold the directional button on the left or the right, the movie being played from my server will only go in tiny little chunks in Reverse or fast forward. When I use say, the Roku Plex app and the same movie, holding the directional left or right moves the movies timeline much faster either way. Is there a fix for this?
Hope this makes sense. The movement or “progress” when going back or forward is MUCH smoother and faster on Roku Plex app, than the Plex app for Android TV. Is this just a difference in the apps coding for these different platforms? I’m not referring to the FFWD and RRWD buttons themselves, just the directional ones.
I actually find the Roku slower. The Roku use 10s intervals. The Shield uses -10/+30s, so it should be quicker going forward. You can’t make this faster. If you need to jump further in time, you can bring up the OSD, click up to focus on the timeline and then use < > to navigate that. It goes much quicker.
Crap. I said it backwards. I just realized this, thank you. But yes, you’re absolutely correct. I love the chapters markers. They definitely help but don’t exist in the shield version but at least we have the seconds indicator using the method you suggested. It goes by fast if you aren’t quick but the downside is there’s no on screen preview as you go to and fro. Regardless. Thanks!. +1!!!
