Plex Transcoder Crash on Multiple Files

When watching media, the Plex transcoder process crashes a few minutes in. Restarting the media works at first, but the transcoder soon crashes again. I’ve tried restarting the server. The transcode directory is not filling up and there is enough memory on the server. The server worked yesterday. The only thing I’ve changes is the password to the SMB server, but I’ve ensured that there is connectivity.

Any ideas?

How does the transcoder behave if you back down to the build 5173 ?

It works perfectly on 5173.

I have the exact same scenario. Plex crashes after a few minutes. The log appears to show an error with the DB.

Given the time of year, and the pending holidays, STAY ON 5173 until after everyone is back .

You want the machine stable and predictable.

It should be noted that I was on the beta (latest) branch of the linuxserver/plex container. Moving it back to “stable” installed version 5173. I’ll stay on stable from now on. Haven’t had any issues for the past year up until now.
