Hi All,
I woke up this morning and I couldn’t sync things to my mobile devices for a trip. I checked the plex server and it wasn’t converting. On the web ui, it says “Waiting to be converted” and in the app it says “pending” and “waiting for server”. I also noticed that my optimized video files are in the “waiting” state. I can’t seem to get things to start working again. I made sure to uncheck the “Prioritize streaming transcodes” setting.
I am using Windows 2008 R2 server for my plex server.
This is what I have tried so far:
- Upgrading to the newest version of PMS
- Uninstalling and reinstalling
- Rebooting the server
- removing the optimized video queue and re-adding the tv show library to the queue after
- Checked the logs but couldn’t find anything, although I don’t really know what to look for.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
I have attached the PMS logs.
Thanks,
Stephen
Any ideas? I’m about to just reinstall the OS and restart from scratch.
The optimize/sync function is super slow even when set to very fast. I have a dual xeon 8 core CPU setup for transcoding and I can encode a full 1080p movie in 5 minutes, but optimizing takes 4 hours to do a tv show less than 1 hour long. I turned off backround transcoding because I have enough CPU to transcode 8 HD movies simultaneously but optimizing still takes forever. Must be a plex software issue…

I have sync’d hundreds of films and tv shows (ive got it set to medium for better quality, which for me is still x 3 real time when doing full video and audio) to all sorts of mobile devices but i have never thought it was slow converting, the slow part is always the sync onto the mobile device for some reason.
I just noticed this in the logs… Maybe this is the reason I am having the issue?
ERROR - Uncaught exception running threadpool task: Invalid field used: synced
were you able to resolve this? I am having the same exact issue for over 3 weeks now.
No one had an answer that would help so I ended up reinstalling to Ubuntu on my server instead and its been working since then. I don’t recommend Ubuntu for your server as I am now having issues with TLS too many open files errors filling up the logs and crashing the plex server every couple days.
Thanks sbaydush. I had to completely reinstall plex as well and now it’s working.
