Hi, my server is downmixing DTS to Stereo when streaming to a samsung blu ray (in direct play works ok). In plex help i’ve read that there is a checkbox to enable/disable it, but in the last version i can’t find it.
I have the same problem. The movies are shown with audio option dts, but plex streams them with stereo.
can you explain me how to edit the xml exactly?
i changed the web.xml from this
to this
but i still get stereo sound
i found the web.xml in my windows installation in that folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Profiles
Well configuring the xml didnt work for me.
Since you solved your problem and i have the same problem, i feel free to continue your thread instead of opening another one.
I installed openPHT and dts etc works fine. In the settings there is a option to passthrough the sound. I checked it and it worked. I want the exact same feature in the web app. Why does it not work?
I dont want another application to run in full screen.
What else can i try?

You can’t have it in the web app. No Web browser in existence supports DTS audio. Since Plex Web runs in a web browser…
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel: install PMP - it is free now for all users.
PMP has now a second display mode that looks exactly like Plex Web, but it uses the full potential of the MPV media engine, so it can play anything in Direct Play.
Could you drill in on the download link? I’m getting a lot of mixed messages. In one area (the blog) I’m told it will be available after the PP-Preview Period and from your link above I’m informed I can get the source if I want to build something or other and that leads to a page with a thousand links…
