Plex transcoding is downmixing DTS to stereo

Hi, my server is downmixing DTS to Stereo when streaming to a samsung blu ray (in direct play works ok). In plex help i’ve read that there is a checkbox to enable/disable it, but in the last version i can’t find it.

How can i transcode DTS as is with no downmixing?

Thanks

You can use a dts converter to convert dts to ac3, mp3, aac, wav, etc. UFUShare give a guide on how to transcode dts audio, hope it help. http://www.ufushare.com/dts-converter-convert-dts-to-ac3-mp3-wav-aac-wma/

Hi, thank you but i don’t need to convert it, my device plays dts so i need to send it as dts with no changes

solved, in the xml profile i have added the dca codec to the transcoding tag, now it sends the dts track with no conversion

I have the same problem. The movies are shown with audio option dts, but plex streams them with stereo.
can you explain me how to edit the xml exactly?
i changed the web.xml from this

to this

but i still get stereo sound

i found the web.xml in my windows installation in that folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Profiles

seems like i cant post xml tags, they disappear …

i changed this:
VideoProfile protocol=“http” container=“mkv” codec=“h264” audioCodec=“aac,mp3” context=“streaming”

to this:

VideoProfile protocol=“http” container=“mkv” codec=“h264” audioCodec=“dca,aac,mp3” context=“streaming”

I did it on samsung profile to transcode the video to my blu ray, i don’t know if web player is compatible with dts.

I added dts (dca) to this tag:
VideoProfile container=“mpegts” codec=“h264” audioCodec=“dca,ac3,aac,mp3” context=“streaming”

Well configuring the xml didnt work for me.
Since you solved your problem and i have the same problem, i feel free to continue your thread instead of opening another one.

I installed openPHT and dts etc works fine. In the settings there is a option to passthrough the sound. I checked it and it worked. I want the exact same feature in the web app. Why does it not work?
I dont want another application to run in full screen.
What else can i try?

You can’t have it in the web app. No Web browser in existence supports DTS audio. Since Plex Web runs in a web browser…

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel: install PMP - it is free now for all users.
PMP has now a second display mode that looks exactly like Plex Web, but it uses the full potential of the MPV media engine, so it can play anything in Direct Play.

@OttoKerner ?

Could you drill in on the download link? I’m getting a lot of mixed messages. In one area (the blog) I’m told it will be available after the PP-Preview Period and from your link above I’m informed I can get the source if I want to build something or other and that leads to a page with a thousand links…

A little help for the handicapped, please.

PMP can be downloaded from the regular Download page. Just pick “3 - get an app”

That cleared that right up. Thank you.

How did u do that? Please can u show me ?
