Plex Media Player - Transcoding DTS to DD AC-3

Hello Plexians!

I’m trying to set up my Plex Media Player to convert DTS to AC-3 Dolby Digital since my Sonos system is not able to decode DTS. (So far a ‘premium’ experience…)

Anyway, when starting a movie with AC-3, PMP sends out AC-3 perfectly as 5.1 audio. Passthrough is working great here. Also confirmed in the Sonos app.

But when I start a movie with DTS audio, it is converted to stereo..! :frowning:
I check when doing CTRL + SHIFT + D when watching a movie to confirm this.

How can I configure PMP to transcode the DTS audio to DD AC-3?

Your screenshots are not showing.

You are supposed to set the Device Type to ‘optical’
then tick only the AC3 checkbox underneath
