Plex TV advertising - too often

I am plex lifetime already and still getting advertising during the plex TV.

And the kicker is that it is for plex TV service itself. I have already bought!

Can the devs reconsider to turn this off for cases like this???

Why ads? Will having a Plex Pass remove them?

Our goal is to bring a wide assortment of content—from big studios, independent producers, and more—from around the globe to you for free. In exchange, we’re asking for a bit of your time to watch some ads. Even so, you can expect a notably lower ad-to-content ratio than you’d experience with typical broadcast television.

Since ad revenue is how the studios and distributors get paid, having a Plex Pass will not remove ads or reduce their frequency.

Why am I seeing the same ad so many times?

Due to the way that the ad industry works, it’s fairly likely that you may see the same ad more than once when watching content early after our initial launch. As people start watching content from around the world, a wider variety of advertisers will come on board, which means a much broader pool of possible ads (and thus a much lower likelihood of seeing the same ad multiple times.

For the first; a fact of life which I will live with (depending on frequency, length etc). Understood it is a difficult balance for the plex management team.

For the second; not sure if they understand the scope fo the problem. I am literally seeing the same four ads all the time; and it is always for the plex TV service. it isn’t ‘more than once’ it is ‘all the time’. I would even be ok to see an advertisement irrelevant to me (eg ad for US audience depsite being in Asia) just to see something different. I really think the management team should look into this as it isn’t an a tradeoff thing.
