Does an option exist so that I may pay more money in exchange for NOT having to watch this plex advertisement for free streaming movies every other to every third news clip that I watch? I know plex has more stuff and options and I’m happy for them but to have to watch that ad 10-15 times over 30 minutes while browsing recent news video clips on the earthquake in Turkey and about the Coronavirus is insane.

If I give you 10 of my closest friends and family’s email addresses to spam will you reduce the number of plays I have to sit through?

If I give Plex another LifeTime Pass fee will you turn it off for my account?

If I give you my first born and mark my front door with goats blood the holy name of Plex might I get into Plex heaven and not have to listen to this anymore?

Does an option exist to disable this ad for employees? I’m willing to quit my job, move to Plex headquarters, and work for peanuts and kale if so.

If I watch a free movie from plex.tv/free will the ads stop or slow down? I think Idiocracy is on there…

If I say seven hail marys at midnight in front of a mirror with no lights on will the circle be broken between Plex marketing and the devil?

I’ve tried knocking on wood, throwing salt over both of my shoulders, walked around ladders, fixed a broken mirror, jumped over cracks in the pavement, thrown quarters down the Goonies wishing well, hung a horseshoe over my front door, and feed a black cat but none of these seems to work.

Any suggestions?

There is no way to change the ads inbetween the News clips.
Disabling VOD won’t help, either.

Could I start a KickStarter campaign to help fund Plex to create more ads? It would actually be better to have to watch 10 different sounding and looking ads all for the same thing instead of just a single ad played over and over.

Ads are going to be a fact of life for us all because it generates money so I get it but the same ad over and over starts to become cruel and unusual subliminal advertising. Last night I woke up in a cold sweat, scaring the dogs, yelling ‘hey it’s plex with a whole new way to stream!’ This has gotten worse than that repeated ‘carpet shower cell phone commercial’ that played the same way months ago.

I’ve used and supported Plex for years now but this sort of stuff really has me thinking ‘to hell with all of this.’ I’m just looking for some moderation…

Ya’ll have discovered ‘The Training Area’.

When building a brand new user base, it’s best to ‘Train’ the user base you want, while ‘Discouraging’ the user base you wish to replace.

It’s all just part of the process. Live it, or live with it (or disable it - while that still works).
