Plex TV Series Beta not finding many shows

Kind of annoyed that I got ‘forced’ into a supposed better agent for it then to not find many mostly new shows that are clearly on TVDB already. It might be faster, but its one hell of a downgrade in matching. Anything I can do to fix or force it to use TVDB anyways? The blank unlinked shows are starting to drive me nuts.

Oh it also doesnt take the “tvdb-number” command. Because tvdb-410625 does nothing and claims to not find anything. Even though its def correct

Best I can tell by the results I do get, its only looking at TMDB and not TVDB

Appreciate it, let me know if you need other examples. It does seem to come down to things that are (fairly) new (one is 2020) that are on TVDB and not TMDB. Long story short it seems to not check TVDB

An issue was discovered which was introduced recently when we started moving things over to the new TVDB api. A fix is in the works and things should get back to normal in the next couple of days.

That sounds good, does this involve a server/client update or is in on the backend?

This is purely a backend change you won’t need to install any update but you may need to manually match those unmatched shows.

I’m having a similar problem with a new show I added today. The Larkins (2021). The agent doesn’t find this at all. It actually matched it as Car Kings. I’ve tried to manually search and even tried matching it using the tvdbid 410733 but it doesn’t find it.

It’s also not pulling episode metadata for Pretty Smart and shows all episodes as TBA despite data being available.

In fact a lot of shows seem to have been stuck on TBA for episode data recently which hopefully is part of the same issue you mentioned and will be fixed with that.

These issues seem to be starting to resolve themselves now.

Please check these again and let me know if you’re getting the correct metadata now.
