plex unable to find and connect to HD homerun prime

hey there,

I got an HD home run prime and plex doesnt want to seem to find it and connect to it. I can ping it and even curl the web interface from the plex container but its still playing dumb like it cant find it.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks

Is the HDHR running a current firmware? If you go to my.hdhomerun.com does the device show up? Does it have a green checkmark by the firmware?

Yep it detects it and is on the same version as you

What version of Plex Media Server? What OS is the Plex Media Server? What is the IP Address of the Server and IP Address of the HDHR? Are they on the same subnet? Since you mentioned container I have seen other posts on the forum discussing vimage needing to be enabled. Have you looked at that setting?

My Plex Server did not detect it either, but if I click on the manual link and enter the IP address, then it recognized it - and it worked fine.

I tried doing that too but it doesn’t seem to want to work.

Latest version, 1.9.0.4252 and its on a debian container.

Container - 192.168.20.53
HDHR - 192.168.20.16

It can definitely get the information it needs since the responses are 200 but then decides its not valid

They are however are not on the same LAN because subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, i would be surprised if that was the issue considering it can ping and talk to it

And what is vimage? Im running on LXC containers

Also whats weird is I restored a backup of when it was definitely working and it acted all fine, i could view all the channels and in the logs it was communicating just fine. I went ahead to add a new device just to see if it would find it, then all of a sudden its like “nope cant talk to it anymore” and says it cant contact the device even though i can still watch live TV through plex with it.

bump. Anybody have any ideas?

You showed the IP Addresses as:
Container - 192.168.20.53
HDHR - 192.168.20.16

Log shows IP address of HDHR as 192.168.10.16. Plex requires the Server and HDHR to be on the same subnet.

Sorry i haven’t checked the forums in a bit but that isn’t true. I could see that for auto discovery but considering the 2 subnets are routing to each other, typing in the IP address should work just fine. They are able to communicate with each other just fine.

I rolled back to a previous backup for plex and it does work but if i go to even change the DVR plex will suddenly think it cant contact it anymore. And shown by those logs above it can definitely communicate. I could try moving plex to the .10 subnet and see if that fixes it though.

any solutions to your problem? I’m having the same issue

sadly no. I have it “working” and by that i mean plex thinks it cant see it but live TV works and so does recording but i cant change any settings with it.
