Plex Update does not work

Server Version#: 1.40.2.8395
Hi Guys,

this is my first post and i hope this is a correct pleace thread.
I have running plexmediaserver on a Raspi 4 besides PiHole.
Now i have some trouble to update the metafiles for new added movies.
It just doesn’t work.
Then I realized this:

grafik

So I did this via sudo apt-get update and it seems to work
grafik

Also Metafiles can be updated now.
But this only works for a couple of minutes.
And then this happens:
grafik

I can repeat this again and again.
Is there something I do the wrong way?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

There is no automatic update for Linux.
You must use the package manager

As for the metadata, We’ll need your logs.

Two primary reasons for lack of metadata:

  1. Bad naming
  2. No permission for PMS to read the media file(s)

Thx for quick reply.
Which logs do you need? There are different ones in the Log folder.
Regarding to the update. I’m a Linux beginner so can you give me a short instruction on this?
Download the debian ARM V8 version. Put it via Filezilla in the TMP folder of the Raspi and then?

Thx!

The best and easiest to give me is the entire ZIP file which the server gives you when you ask it for the logs. I can then look at whatever needs.

Please be advised–

  1. We support Plex on Linux.
  2. We’ll help you with those special things Plex needs on Linux
  3. We’re not equipped to teach Linux PLUS Google has FAR BETTER tutorials.

We do keep a collection of the most common things here

Now, I did a update manually with the Plex server version from the Plex homepage. And still the same issue - Update available.

Short Update: After updating to the latest version 1.40.3.8555 it seems that the issue is solved (I hope so)
Metafiles can be updated an also Plex shows now that it is up to date.
