This may have been answered already if so apologies for raising again.
Every time I respond to an announcement on my media server that a new version is available, it downloads without any problems and then fails to update. The server disappears, there are no error messages of any kind from either Plex or windows and I have to download the latest version to my server machine and run setup and repair the server. It repairs it quite happily - just finished and I now have Version 1.13.5.5291 installed and all the libraries are there. Its inconvenient more than anything else, not being able to update within the program and no clue as to why it fails.
Once I started running Plex as a service, I could no longer get it to update by responding to the announcement either. I always have to stop Plex first then manually run the setup.
Kind of like a GEICO commercial…“It’s what you do.”
