Plex Users Cannot See Server

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173
Player Version#: 6.9.10.7373-629387567-Plex
I used to host my plex media server on a dedicated VM running Ubuntu. Has worked great for many years. Recently I decided to re-install my server and started using docker containers for my deployments, Plex included (plexinc/pms-docker:plexpass). I am able to manage my server from my PC like before. It is signed into my account with my Plex Pass activated. I can switch to my other users and they see the content just fine. However, it seems my Roku devices running Plex cannot see the server. They are all on the same LAN subnet, and each of them has access to All Media shared. But if I sign into the master account, it sees the server and all of the media as well. I even tried creating a totally new user, again all media shared. When I go back to the Plex on Roku devices, it sees the new user. Switch to it, same issue, server is not accessible. Switch back to the master account, it’s all accessible then. I have tried signing out of the Roku players and linking them back with my account, but it’s the exact same result. Is this docker container limited in this sense, or what am I missing? Mobile devices on the same network using Plex can see all content on all of the users like normal. So it seems to be limited to Roku.

Thanks for reading!

Is the docker container running with the HOST networking, BRIDGE networking , or NAT ?

If it’s running as HOST, and your VM was configured for BRIDGE (where it became another peer IP on your subnet) , the Roku players will be able to see it.

If you setup the docker container as NAT / BRIDGE then the roku’s (or other LAN devices) won’t be able to find it because it’s on a different subnet.

It was setup as host networking, per the recommendations in the instructions when setting up the docker. I actually figured out what the issue was linked to. I backed up the Preferences.xml file and deleted the original. Restarted the container and let Plex recreate that file. I had to reconfigure my preferences, of course, then go to each user and assign access to All Media again. But once I did that, the Roku devices were able to see the content again.
