Plex v1.1.0 - any point in downloading for Mac users

(new) Plex for Win/Mac v1.1.0 appears to only have fixes for Windows users according to the release notes. Is there any point in upgrading to this version for Mac users?

I believe that Plex-1.1.0 is the initial release of the new Plex client app.
Maybe you have their old software, soon to be retired, called Plex Media Player.

Both can co-exist on your Mac, as they are named differently.
You should definitely try out both to know what the future holds and to provide auto-feedback.

From my experience so far, PMP still has more functionality, but not so much more that I prefer it.
If I’m frustrated enough with something the new Plex app does, I switch to VLC.

Version 1.1.0 is the second publicly released version of ‘Plex for Mac’.

The mac version 1.1.0 might contain a small preparatory change to make future app updates less intrusive.
It won’t hurt to update, but you should be equally fine if you don’t.

Hi Nibnbles.

Yes, I know all that
I have both running in parallel as PMP still allows me to filter Live-TV which UNO does not.

The releases notes to the first update of the (new) Plex app only references Windows changes, hence my question.

Thanks, Otto!
