I set up one of my ATV2s for PlexConnect, and unfortunately videos don't play very long without the springboard restarting and kicking me back to the main menu. Videos will play for anywhere from 1-5 minutes before it stops working. In the example I last tried, I was able to play a video for 5:35 before it stopped working. Information is below. Any ideas on what's going on here?
Model: AppleTV 2
Firmware: 6.1.1
DNS and IP of server running PlexConnect and PMS: 192.168.0.7
PlexConnect version: 0.3.1+
PMS version: 0.9.9.10.458-008ea34
OS running PlexConnect/PMS: Windows Server 2008 R2
Settings.cfg file (from a clean shutdown of PlexConnect):
The bitrate, THE BITRATE! I totally forgot about modifying the bitrate for the transcoder. I was set at 1080p 20Mbps, and I knocked it down to 720p 4.0Mbps. I just started the movie up again. If it gets through the whole thing without a problem, then I'm good to go. I'll post the result later.
Knocking down the transcoder to 720P 4.0Mbps did it. I was able to go through a full movie without incident. Thanks for everyone's replies, since it at least helped me think about the transcoder setting.
Is it still possible to do this under latest versions of PMS? I can't find the option anywhere to explicitly force it to 720p at 4Mbps under Transcoder settings they seem to have simplified this down to a few basic options (quality/speed/make my CPU hurt). Or am I looking in the wrong place?
