Plex-Web in Chrome stopped working after server update?

I’m just getting started with Plex. I’ve set up a Plex Web Server on my Desktop computer and successfully constructed a media library. I was running a Plex Web app on my Laptop and I could see and play my media. It was all going very smoothly until I hit this problem.

My Plex Web client on my Laptop has stopped working - I’m seeing just the word “Plex” on a black background.

My LAN setup (all Ethernet - no WiFi) is:

· Laptop running Windows XP Home, Service Pack 3, Plex-Web in Chrome.
· Desktop running Windows 7 Pro (32 bit), Service Pack 1, hosts my Plex Media Server (Version 1.20.5.3600).
· Amazon Fire TV Stick 4k + Ethernet adapter driving TV.

Yesterday I installed the Plex App from the Amazon AppStore onto my Amazon Fire TV Stick 4k. All seemed to be working fine. I could see my media from the Laptop, the Desktop and from the TV Plex App.

The next day, however, the Plex Web App in Chrome on the Laptop no longer works. I think there was a Plex Media Server Update late yesterday, which presumable only took effect this morning when I rebooted the server. Could that have something to do with it?

Im currently having the same issue. On Chrome OS the web player will not load the video player. Works fine on windows & ubuntu with firefox.

I did try opening a Plex-Web in Firefox on the Laptop instead of Chrome but it made no difference – still doesn’t work. I’m reluctant to roll back the Server Update, which I’m sure has broken the XP client. Would seem silly to do that for the sake of one ancient client that perhaps should be retired.
