So, I’m having a few issues that started recently, Plex is currently up to date on Plex pass and my server is installed locally. I believe after the upgrade to version 2.8.x is when this started. During playback through a web browser, if I pause the video, and come back to it after a few minutes, I get a generic playback error in the top right corner, and the video restarts from the point where I started watching it in the first place, and then will freeze when it gets to the point I paused it. It’s as if something is halted, and won’t restart. Direct Play is turned on.
A second issue, which is happening on all my files, the video playback will stop without an error message, and then just starts playing the next episode in the series after a few seconds.
Doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when these issues happen (except the pause one, that happens all the time). Anyone else experiencing this? Anything I can post to provide clarity on what to fix for this issue? Again, this is something that started recently. Seems like some of these software updates are breaking older features that worked just fine in the past.
My Plex server is on a Windows 7 PC, and I’m using my laptop with wireless N connection. Network environment is completely solid, Meraki WiFi, sitting on Avaya layer 3 ERS switches, and everything is local, internet connection not coming into play.
