Plex Web Player Stopped Playing H264 Videos But Windows App Works OK

Server Version#:1.20.1.3252-a78fef9a9
Player Version#:2.12.10

So I’ve got a Windows 10 machine hosting a Plex server. Inside the same local network, I have been streaming movies, live TV/DVR (HD Homerun Extend), and music videos very well directly. The video is mostly H264, audio mostly dolby digital and dts encoded, mkv container. A friend who uses the web player remotely remarked that she can not get the videos to stream. So I tried the web player and it does not stream locally either. The same videos stream both locally and remotely using the desktop APP, but fail using any browser… I tried Chrome, firefox, and Edge… When I click on the video to start streaming, the video wallpaper shows briefly for about 2 seconds, then the screen goes blank… and nothing happens, just the spinning “working” symbol… rebooting and restarting does nothing. Also the web player streams live TV very well. However I can’t figure out how to stream live TV with the new Windows App. I used to be able to stream live TV no problem with the windows app before a recent software upgrade.

I’m hoping someone can give me some advice or point me in the right direction to resolve these issues. I see indications that the Windows App will be discontinued … that would be okay with me if only I could stream my movies and videos again using the Web Player.

Attached is the Plex server log… hopefully someone will help out … getting frustrated with Plex and not going to renew my Plexpass due to lack of functionality. Plex Media Server Logs_2020-09-06_13-09-42.zip (6.6 MB)
