Installed today - the improved search does not seem to be searching photo libraries unless Photos are specifically selected. I would hope that the initial “Top Results” would cover all of the media sources.

I was just about to report the same. Hopefully this is just a “beta” deficiency.
I’m also not sure about no longer having a full page of search results, instead of just a longer dropdown. Hopefully this means the full search results page is being expanded to really be a full results page.

I also noticed that the Home and End keys behave differently in the new search as well.
In the old search (which I can still use in my local Plex Web v4.69.1 installation) Home and End position the cursor at beginning and end of the search box (behaving just like Google and Bing search engines).
However, when using the new search box (hosted version of Plex Web v4.74.1) pressing the Home and End keys highlights the first search result and Show More button respectively

Are full page search results coming back?
the new search is abysmal. why change it? like any of us want ALL our search results in a tiny drop down search field? please bring the full results page back

So who knows how long it might take.
If they have not updated the version of the webapp that ships with PMS (yet), you could use that instead of the hosted app. that’s what I am doing, but I have stopped updating PMS, so not sure if plexweb has been updated in PMS yet.
Given that the DVR Schedule has been missing from the new Plex for Tizen/XBox/Playstation client for almost a year since it can out of preview last April this could mean anything
It hasn’t yet - I’m using the latest server release, v1.25.6.5545, which still includes Plex Web v4.69.1.
and it was July 2021 when they said duplicate badges would be coming back, but again no ETA. And they are still not back…

Oh this new search has me at my end. Can I downgrade my server to a prior version of PMS to get the old search back? (Or is that not how any of this works?)
Sorry, I can not provide any timescale or ETA.
Currently, we can use the local version of the web app to get a full page of search results. Can we at least hope that you will not update the version included in the server updates, so that those of us that prefer the old search function can still have access to a full page of results.?

The bundled web app updates with your PMS. There will be a point where PMS updates it’s bundled web app to the version where search is also updated.
Why the hell did the unfinished, less-capable search get out of beta?

It’s probably part of the same issue, so I hope this belongs here, but apologies if it doesn’t!
When I search for something in the Web interface and hit enter, Plex now always and only goes straight to the first Top Result of the search, which is invariably something entirely different from what I’m searching for. This is just ridiculous. The search has been made practically useless, and I hate it with great fervor. 
When I search for something and hit enter, I should see the results of the search… not that one item that Plex has deemed most important out of the plethora of results.
Is there no way to just enable/disable this new and “improved” search in options somewhere?

If you are looking for Porn, the search is definitely MORE-capable.
I get that you’ve found a big problem, and I agree, but let’s not spam it across every thread please.
