Does the Windows Plex Dekstop Player app have no update / version checker? It seems the only way to check if the app is current or update it is to go the Plex downloads page?
When I launched the app last night I was on1.43.2.2949 and it never checked or asked for an update. The only way I found the new version was to go to the Plex downloads page.
I just now uninstalled 1.44.0.2981, reinstalled 1.43.2.2949, rebooted and launched it again and it is not checking for updates and is not giving any notification there is a newer client available.
In the last year or so that I have been using the desktop app, it has never once offered to update or notified that a new version is available.
well it seems to be working from 1.44 as it just auto-updated to 1.45…that the first time I have ever seen that happen since 1.39 on my system…go figure…I guess the magic of making a post solved the issue
