Anyone have some advice with this issue? I have contacted silicondust, who have confirmed the HDHomeRun is set-up fine and working well. I can watch live TV broadcasts using the HDHomeRun application directly, but Plex simply is not able to interact with it (but it CAN detect the tuner successfully during Live TV setup wizard).
Both devices on the same L2 network/subnet, Plex is running as a TrueNAS jail, IP = 192.168.10.162, and HDHomeRun is connected to same VLAN, and with DHCP it has the IP 192.168.10.103.
I have tried deploying a whole new Plex instance on my Synology NAS, different subnet, different IP, but had exactly the same issue. Was able to find the tuner, download the EPG guide, but when opening a channel, only the ‘Source is unavailable’ error comes up.
Are you using TrueNAS CORE or SCALE??
TrueNAS Core. But I’ve also configured the Plex plugin on my Synology NAS to test if the Plex version or back-end device is the problem. I’m getting the same issue on my Synology NAS.
Yesterday I upgraded again, to the latest version of Plex on the TrueNAS deployment, but blew away the old Jail deployment first. Started over basically…same result.
Tried turning transcoding off, remote access is working fine, the HDHomeRun config app shows that Plex IP address is consuming one of the tuners when I try to watch a channel on it, but still not able to watch content on Plex (browser or on plex client app for windows and android).
I would turn on the debug logging & submit the logs for a Plex employee/expert to review.
