Plex wont hardware decode files anymore

Plex will no longer decode any videos anymore. It causes my cpu to get pegged at 100%. I went from a server that used an NVIDIA gpu to a server that is suposed to use quicksync. I backed up the plex settings and tranfered them to the new server. Did it some how transfer some sort of nvidia settings over to the new server? Ive fully uninstalled and reinstalled plex a few times and it doesnt seem to make a diffrence. ive attached a screenshot of the console when i try to transcode a video.

Which precise CPU type is in that machine?

If the machine also has a discrete GPU card, is the internal on-board Intel GPU activated in the BIOS? It must be.

Is there a driver software installed for the on-board Intel GPU? It must be present. (Download it from the Intel website)

It has an Intel 10400 cpu

No discrete gpu, there was one in the old server, but the new server is all new hardware.

Yes the driver is installed to use use the onboard Intel gpu.

I think for some reason some nvidia settings from the old server carried over to the new server.

There are no settings other than whether or not to use gpu at all.

The transcoder tests each time for nvidia then quick sync.

You can see in your log snip above that it tries to use direct 3D and fails.

Do you have tone mapping enabled? Try disabling to see if that makes a difference. On windows it cpu only.

What does the plex web dashboard show?

Where are the full debug logs (not verbose)?

Plex web - settings - troubleshooting - download logs, attach or drag drop into reply.

Other things that can cause issues, headless with no monitor, using RDP.

weird disabling tone mapping seemed to fix the issue thank you, why would that be causing a problem i wasnt transcoding 4k.

the dashboard would show that it was only hw encoding and not hw decoding, no matter what kind of video i was trying to play.

if i have the problems again i will post my logs.
