Server Version#:latest server version 12/14/22
Player Version#:2012 iMac
Hi. This morning I had several power dips. I restarted my computer and noticed Plex was missing. I opened the app it said the server was unavailable. I signed out of the app then i uninstalled Plex from the application folder. I restarted the computer, then reinstalled the Plex media server. I moved it to the application folder but it won’t launch. Please help
Im going to bet you have a corrupt database: See https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database/
ok so how do delete ad do a start over
See the second blue box in the linked article.
I read the blue box, but where do I input that?
Understand, this deletes your server completely. This is not like a normal uninstall and reinstall where your data is kept intact
This is a last resort after you’ve tried to repair the database unsuccessfully
You will have to rebuild and rescan all your libraries, your personalized posters and your manually input metadata will be gone
There has been a problem on older mac’s where the latest update has caused problems for people. I’d hate to see you wipe out your server only to have the same problem upon a fresh install
so repair the database is the better option?
There is also the DB Repair Utility. It runs from the command line, but you do not have to enter the SQLite commands yourself.
See Typical Usage → B. Database is malformed in the readme.
Choose latest on the right side of the web page to download.
