that seems to be about connecting to a server. my app won’t even open though.

Well it was a shot in the dark, but if the TV app can’t connect to the server it may not open. There’s another shot in the dark. Here’s another one - make sure the DLNA server is enabled in the server settings - Plexweb/Settings/Server/DLNA - 'cause I’m pretty sure without that you’re going nowhere, pretty fast.

Also for my last night-time blast: If by some twist of fate that app in the TV has ‘Sign in Automatically’ enabled in it’s settings - disable it.

well, I’m on my tablet, galaxy 2 ( Samsung tablet).

I did notice that it gives me the message as soon as it boots up. I’m also trying to figure out how to disable plex to start on bootup.
Tablets are hard. aha

Hmmmm. Tricky.

If you have a Plex Icon in the system tray, right click it and uncheck ‘Start Plex Media Server at Login’.

I’m not sure how successful PMS is going to be running on a Glorified Cell Phone. Many people are running PMS on some pretty low end Computers, but they are, at least, Computers. I realize your tablet is probably better than the ‘Computers’ used to land a bunch of guys on the Moon, but they weren’t trying to watch ‘Gunsmoke’ on their Plex Media Servers from Lunar Orbit.

lol

can’t right click on a tablet. I’ve been looking through my tablet for 4 hours and nothing yet hahah. It’s awful

Well, I think you need more advanced help than I can provide. @OttoKerner ? Any suggestions?

tried google. No luck there either.

Tried google on how to stop apps to from starting on boot… no luck either.

Thanks though

Stand-By. Otto’s pretty good (unless he’s running from the building with his hair on fire).

downloaded startup manager for my tablet. turned plex off. still is messing up.

It’s weird, the message about plex stopping immediately comes up when my tablet is done booting.

I cannot help you much, because I don’t use one of those TVs myself.

If it is a model year up until 2015, then it has Orca’s Smarthub app. Forum here: https://forums.plex.tv/categories/samsung-smart-hub

If it is a newer model, it runs the generic ‘smart tv’ plex app. Forum here: https://forums.plex.tv/categories/smart-tvs

You never used a tablet before?

Hmm, thanks for trying. I’ll try to continue research

I think one of the ‘main’ issues is the server is running on a Tablet.

The TV could be an issue that can be tackled, but that ‘Tablet Server’ may a beast too wild to be tamed.

You never mentioned that it is a tablet.
You just said ‘my Samsung’.
When I hear that I assume a TV device.

If you have a Samsung tablet, then this is the Android app
https://forums.plex.tv/categories/android-mobile

The display device is the Samsung TV.
The Server is on the Tablet.

That combo is NOT in the Plex Handbook I think.

I don’t see anything indicating that this is true.
A Samsung Galaxy is running Android. There is no Plex server for Android devices (except for the nVidia Shield).

Well, then I think we have identified ‘the issue’. What we have are two Plex Client apps and no server. That would prove to be ‘problematic’ in a ‘Server/Client’ relationship.

I mean I’ve been using my android Samsung tablet at my work since December of 2016. I downloaded Plex media app for 5 bucks. Connected to my uncles server and have been able to watch it.

There was an issue recently with the Android app which could crash the app when a video was synced to the device.
I have no idea if that is the cause of your issue. Keep your eyes open for updates from your preferred Android App store in the next few days.
