After updating the DSM to version 7.0 I can’t play files from Plex. Plex just tells me to check my permissions? I have read/right permissions turned on for the shared folder and the Plex user but that does not help. I have tried to uninstall the Plex package but no go. Can someone please help me.
Sorry the text is in Danish, but as you can see, PlexMediaServer is grey and I can only choose to see the permissions, I can’t edit them. I can make new ones but I don’t know if that is a good thing to do?
You write I have to edit my Plex MEDIA folders in Shared Folders, but the folders where my content is stored is NOT in the Shared Folder list, the only shared folder I got in there is a folder named Plex and the homes folder where the content folders (MEDIA) are stored. So if it’s not the Plex and not the homes folder I have to disable permissions for and then give them R/O or R/W permissions, then what do I do?
It might not be the home folder as the Sverkel folder is located in the homeS folder, so I guess that will be the folder to change as it is the only one I got in the Shared Folder panel?
I did as you said with the HOMES folder in Shared Folders and could from there do the rest so now it works. Thank you for your help and sorry for the trouble.
Thank you @Trump81 - I am experiencing issue but whenever I attempt to edit and revise permissions from local users > System Internal User, it doesn’t appear to “save” my edits (when I reopen the folder, it is back to Local users. Any thoughts as to what is going on ?
When I switch to System Internal User, it serves up a long menu of applications (Anti-virus, Dhcp sever, etc) all of which are unchecked as of now. PlexMediaServer is indicating “no access” - is that correct ?
