Plex has not been working for months.
I am clueless how to solve this.

All folder permissions are set to read and write for Plex

Please help!

When you open FileStation –

  1. Is your Plex shared folder empty ? (except for any files you have there)
  2. Do you have shared folder PlexMediaServer ?
  3. Did PMS ever work on DSM 7 ?
  1. I am not sure what you mean by “Plex shared folder”. Attached is my Synology folders

  2. I have the PlexMediaServer

  3. PMS never worked since I upgraded to DSM7

Did you give the new username permission to read your media ?
( We were forced to change the username. It was “Plex” but had to abandon that in DSM 7. The new username is PlexMediaServer.

PlexMediaServer has all the permissions required.
Should I delete this other Plex folder?

My movie library still shows empty

Why are you showing me the PlexMediaServer shared folder ??

This is reserved for PMS itself .

Your media should be in other shared folders. Those are what you give permission to and apply recursively.

Your media shared folders should minimally have PlexMediaServer read permissions.

(e.g. Change where you granted Plex → PlexMediaServer)
