Plex wont recognize certain .MKV files.

For some unknown reason Plex wont recognize several .MKV shows that I placed in the directory that all my other shows are at. It sees all but those that I just transferred in. they have been there for about four days now so its not just a matter of refresh time. Can anyone help.

Please show us the actual file and folder names for more concrete advice.

Folder:
The.Twilight.Zone.The.Complete.Definitive.Collection.S01

Files:
The.Twilight.Zone.S01E01.Where.Is.Everybody.mkv
The.Twilight.Zone.S01E02.One.For.The.Angels.mkv
The.Twilight.Zone.S01E03.Mr.Denton.On.Doomsday.mkv
…etc…

So I read the links you sent me for proper naming of series shows and I renamed some of them to:

Folder:
The Twilight Zone - The Complete Definitive Collection -S01

Files:
The Twilight Zone -S01E01 - Where Is Everybody.mkv
The Twilight Zone -S01E02 - One For The Angels.mkv
The Twilight Zone - S01E03 - Mr Denton on Doomsday.mkv

I re scanned the library files but still no luck.

IMDb have no results to a serach, so is there a year? Once a year is applied. Follow the plex dance Instructions in support article.

Then to be sure when it appears apply “Fix match” from Season Ellipsis(…)

I followed your instructions, applied a year as per IMDb, did the Plex Dance and re scanned but still no luck.

Does your folder structure follow the PLEX standard?
/TV Shows
/The Twighlight Zone
/Season 01
The Twilight Zone -S01E01 - Where Is Everybody.mkv

I had a directory mistake cause this kind of behavior…check for typos. Also television shows use the TVDB.com data not the IMDB (movies). However your naming complies with what they say.

Just noticed your TLF The.Twilight.Zone.The.Complete.Definitive.Collection.S01 is incorrect Should be:
\The Twilight Zone
\Season01

according to TVDB

OK, I got it to work! Where I had the file called:
“The Twilight Zone - The Complete Definitive Collection”
I got rid of “The Complete Definitive Collection” and just left it as “The Twilight Zone”
It now recognizes all the seasons and episodes.

the only issue I have now is that the name of the episodes don’t show, I just get
“Episode 1” instead of the name: “Where Is Everybody”
“Episode 2” instead of the name: “One For The Angels”
etc…

Sounds like the metadata is not loading, or at least completely. Did you add the \Season01 sub-folder and place your files in it? The whole naming convention has to be followed or PLEX can behave erratically.

You must name it the same as IMBd

Drop the (The.Complete.Definitive.Collection) that seems like a network sale name…
